Give teachers their own recess. Arrange volunteers to provide lunch and playground coverage for the afternoon.
Put together a list of teachers and pick a few names from a hat. Call a local car dealership or car-rental office to arrange a Ride-in-Style Day for teachers to come to school in a flashy car.
Spruce up the teachers’ lounge with a coat of paint, silk flowers, new table linens, and wall hangings. Invite parents to offer their unique talents, such as calligraphy, stenciling, sewing, etc., to give the room a more personal and homey feel.
Organize a personal-service day for teachers at the school. Offering timesavers like on-site car washes, dry cleaning pickup and delivery, or even dinners to go are all great ways to make teachers feel special.
Use a red remnant/sample from a carpet store or a roll of red art paper to create a Walk of Fame at school. Cut stars from metallic paper and write out each staff member’s name. Invite parents to cheer teachers as they take their celebrity walk.
